DON’T TAKE THE GRACE OF GOD FOR GRANTED
Text: Timothy 1:14 (NIV)
What is Grace?
It is the undeserved love and unmerited gift or favor of God (Ecclesiastics 9:11)
- Don’t take the grace for granted when things are working in your favor (Deuteronomy 8:10 NIV, Numbers 11:1)
- The grace upon our lives is given to us as a gift from God through His son Jesus Christ (Hebrew 4:16)
IN WHAT WAYS DO WE TAKE THE GRACE OF GOD FOR GRANTED?
- By disobedience to His will / instructions (Judge 13:4, 16:1-31, Numbers 20:1-2, 1 Samuel 13:13-14)
- Through unbelief & doubt (Hebrew 3:12 NIV, James 1:6-8 NIV, Luke 17:11-19)
- Impatience & rebellion against God (Habakkuk 2:3, Psalm 37:7a NIV, 1 Samuel 15:23, Psalm 106:13)
HOW TO MAINTAIN THE GRACE OF GOD IN OUR LIVES
- Study and meditate the word of God (Hebrew 4:12 NIV, Joshua 1:8 NIV, Revelations 1:3, 2 Timothy 2:15)
- Acknowledge and fear Him (Proverbs 3:5-6, Job 28:28, Proverbs 15:33)
- Depend on the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6, Romans 8:26 NIV, John 14:26)
